Pastor Bruce Butler Jr.
Bruce Sr. and Vernelle Butler were blessed with Bruce Jr. in 1969. Bruce Jr. spent the early part of his life in his hometown of Washington, D.C. He was saved at the age of 10 while watching the P.T.L. Club. This was just the beginning of God's hand upon him. God used different situations in Pastor Butler's life to lead his family and him from Washington D.C. to Youngstown Ohio at the age of 11.
Soon after his family relocated to Ohio, he met his childhood sweetheart, Donna. Although Pastor Butler and his wife Donna met when they were young, he was 13 and she was 12, he knew without a doubt that this was the woman God had created for Him. During this time in his life his family searched for God's will in several different denominations which included Jehovah Witnesses. But the Lord had other plans for the Butler family and when Pastor Butler was around 16 years old his whole family came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. His family began visiting a Baptist Church. Pastor Butler later began attending the Gospel Baptist School. While attending Gospel Baptist church, Pastor Butler worked as a Sunday school teacher and a bus worker.
Pastor Butler received most of his training under Pastor Ron Royalty, whom the Lord used in a mighty way to mold and teach him in the things of the Lord.
After graduating from Gospel Baptist, Pastor Butler also attended Hyles Anderson College where he received a passion for ministry and reaching others with the Gospel. He knew without a doubt that God was calling him to be a witness to all people. To build confidence in the young, restore hope in those who felt defeated, and freedom to those that were bound in sin. The Lord moved his family to the Norristown, Pa area where Pastor Bruce would join them the following year.
Upon arriving to Norristown Pastor Butler became extremely active in the Baptist ministry. He became a Sunday school teacher, youth and song director, and a Deacon.
Eventually in 1995, the pastorate became available and Pastor Butler was licensed and became the head pastor. In 1999 he returned to Youngtown OH and stood before a ordination committee. After thorough evaluation, Pastor Bruce became an ordained minister. He has been committed to the calling of God on his life and is very excited about what still lays ahead for him.
Pastor Butler and Donna Butler have been married for over 20 yrs. And have been blessed with 4 beautiful children, 3 bonus children, and 2 grand children. Pastor Butler enjoys watching football and is an avid Redskins fan.
